Point Lookout, NY Art Show -- Sunday August 30, 2015

Richard Zampella at Skipperdees

POINT LOOKOUT, N.Y. -- Celebrating its 46th anniversary, the Point Lookout, NY Art Show will take place on Sunday August 30th from 12 noon until 3 p.m. The festival will be held at the entrance of Point Lookout Beach on Ocean Boulevard. In the event of rain, the event will take place at the Bishop Malloy Recreation Center on Lido Boulevard and Parkside Drive.

The Point Lookout Art Show was founded in 1969 by Ann Cavanagh and Loretta Nester. These talented women coordinated the show for the next sixteen years. After they retired, Kathy Lee Lechler guided the show for the next two years. Most recently, Tom Bauer of Point Artworks and Leigh Gomez of the Framing Edge have coordinated the show. The Art Show is the last legacy of the Point Lookout Community Theatre who held the first show in 1969.

This years commemorative poster utilizes the artwork from the inaugural poster in 1969 and was provided by Historian Don Kelly of The Point Lookout Historical Society. The Historical Society will also display exhibits.

The event is sponsored annually by the Point Lookout, NY Chamber of Commerce. Anyone who would like to participate is welcome to contact Jaqueline DiFalco through Richard Zampella Skipperdees at 26 Lido Boulevard in Point Lookout.
