Heneghan's Tavern in Point Lookout is Now Open

Located on the quaint main street of Point Lookout, NY, where walking and bicycles are the favored mode of transportation, J.A. Heneghan's Tavern is the latest addition to fine dining in the quaint hamlet of Point Lookout. The restaurant & Tavern is a throwback to another time when good conversation and good food went hand-in-hand.

"The Heneghan Family, is pleased to open our doors to residents of the Barrier Island where our guests can enjoy a wonderful meal in a very comfortable setting in Point Lookout. Our Executive Chef Nicole Roarke is preparing excellent dishes with the freshest seasonal ingredients." The dining room is a throw back to a 19th century country pub with comfortable banquettes, fine wood appointments and an open fireplace for the winter. Our menu goes far beyond your typical pub fare," says Propriertor Jack Heneghan. Indeed, pub fare doesn't come close to describing the New American menu, which includes varied dishes such as Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon and Jameson Braised Short Ribs, Pan Seared Tiger Shrimp (with a Saffron-Limoncello Cream), and Eggplant Rollatini with Plum Tomato and Pine Nuts.

Chef Nicole has also designed a "light fare" pub menu that allows guests to eat in the festive and lively atmosphere at the bar

This latest addition of J.A, Heneghan's to the Point Lookout dining landscape has a menu that is crafted by Executive Chef Nicole Roarke. Chef Nicole has honed her cooking skills at the Bon Appetite favorite “The Linkery” and the glamorous “Loews Coronado Bay Resort” in San Diego, California as well as the impressive “Trattoria Aroma” in Buffalo, NY and Jean Georges’ “Spice Market” in NYC. Chef Nicole acquired experience in executing show stopping events such as the 2005 “Chaine de la Rotisseur” and the 2006 “Taste of St. Augustine” while working for the “Hilton Hotel Historic Bayfront” in St. Augustine, Florida, and as the exclusive caterer of the Frank Lloyd Wright “Davidson House” in Buffalo, NY. Her nationwide work experience fuses various regional and cultural influences from Mexican, Southern, Italian, Asian and classic French.

J.A. Heneghan's Tavern is located at 57 Lido Boulevard in Point Lookout, NY and is open Monday to Friday for lunch; Saturday and Sunday for brunch; daily for dinner. Reservations Accepted for parties of 5 or more. Drinks, wine and an extensive beer list by draft & bottle.

Children's Day 2013 Sponsored by The Point Lookout Civic Association

The Point Lookout Civic Association held their 82nd Annual Children's Day under partly sunny skies at the beach on Saturday August 31, 2013. Point Lookout children competed in various activities such as running and swimming races, sand castle competitions, sack races, carnival games, dunk tanks (yes, folks, that brown water comes from our pipes) cotton candy, ice cream, and, to top it off, a "Barbeques for all Ages" with a DJ by Adrenelin Entertainment.
